III Cinema and Religion Exhibition
Inherent to the process of creation of life – a moment in which we get close to divinity – sex is present throughout religions as a way of knowledge and access to the sacred or as natural force to be controlled by restriction or taboo. The III Mostra presented a rich canopy of documentaries and films on the rites of passage of the Brazilian-Indian tribes; about the difficulties of an evangelic mother in accepting the homosexuality of her son; the "ghosts" taking part of erotic relationships; astrologers and shamans legislating on relationships. Sex and religion are associated and are part of the daily life. We could watch how these lessons are naturally taught in the Eastern and Brazilian-Indian religions as practices for human development.
