Synopsis: Bambu Rei is a documentary about the relations between Japan and Brazil established by the musician Shen Ribeiro, through the language of music and arts, and carried by the traditional japonese bamboo flute, the Shakuhachi.The flute comes and has a range of compositions as an instrument used in Buddhist worship.

About the director: Rubens Xavier is a filmmaker, born in São Paulo. In 1978 he co-founded the production company Gira Films, in partnership with six other filmmakers. In 1979 he directed the film Sete Vidas, his first short film, with which participated in several festivals and was awarded honorable mention in the first National Exhibition of Humor in Curitiba.
Since then produced and directed several films and documentaries for TV, films awarded at national festivals such as Gramado, Brasilia, and participated in international festivals.
